I'm glad the protagonist was the psychopathic asshole of the story, instead of a more normal character like Simon. We got so much more room to explore his character this way. Honestly I laughed when he muttered "About time" like he can't help but be the asshole. It also seems like a neat way to reveal his character even more with just one short line.
